Govert van Emmerik was born in Dordrecht 1808 and died in Hamburg.Germany 1882. Lived and worked in Leidschendam, then moved to Hamburg. He was a student of P.Hofman and P.J.Schotel and painted sea and river scenes with ships.. Van Emmerik is famous for his drawings and oilpaintings. Represented in many musea in The Netherlands and other European countries.
